The honeymoon period!

Well on Saturday we set up Jasmine's big girl bed on the floor of her room. We didn't have the rail up yet, so we postponed putting her in it that night. She asked her daddy about the other one when he put her in the crib that night . . . how cute! Well the same day as we put her bed in her room was also the same day she opened her bedroom door for the first time. Now we needed safety thingys for the door knob. On Monday I purchased the safety knobs and installed them before nap time. I put Jasmine in her big girl bed and proceeded to listen on the monitor to decipher any movement. Well she eventually fell asleep and I was pleased with the first run. Jeremy came home from work and I informed him that his little girl was sleeping in her big girl bed. I then remembered that I could go outside and look through the window to spy on her. Jeremy and I ran outside and cackled the whole way there. I peered into her room only to see her sleeping on the floor. Poor little girl. I guess all the laughing that Jeremy and I were doing outside her window woke her up. :( Poor poor little girl. After inspecting her room, she must have wandered a little bit before sleeping because some diapers were on the floor as well as the wipes box and Noah's ark night light. She is so silly!

That night we put her in bed again and she fell asleep with no incident. Jeremy came home from school and we checked on her. She was still in the bed soundly asleep. Around 1 a.m. we heard a big cry, Jasmine fell out of her bed. Jeremy wisked her up, calmed her down and try to place her back in the big girl bed . . . she wasn't having it, so back to the crib she went.

Tuesday we felt we needed to make some improvements to the big girl bed to prevent fall out. :) She napped in her crib and then in the evening we put her down and she made it until morning.

Today, I laid down in her bed during naptime, read her books, and proceeded to fall asleep. Jasmine too fell asleep. It was sweet. I woke up, realized what I had done and proceeded to scoot out of the bed. She woke up a bit, but went right back to bed. Tonight Jeremy put her to sleep and when he was leaving she asked if he was going to stay and sleep. How sweet is that?

We will see if any action happens in the middle of the night. I hear that the first week is kind of the honeymoon period. Only time will tell. I hope it will remain this easy!

  1. Congratulations!!

The window part is so funny. I'm kind of jealous you thought of it. We'd need a ladder to do that.
