Pictures for all the Seth fans

It appears that Seth already has quite a large following demanding pictures. They would have been posted yesterday, but we were having technical difficulties with Auntie Jenn's Mac. We are all good now.

Seth David was born Tuesday, November 17th at 10:35 a.m. He was 6 lbs 5 ozs and 19 1/2 inches long. Since he has been born we have had several visitors including Auntie Jenn, Papaw, Grandma, Amachi, Stan, Charles, and Barbara. Seth has been a great eater when he is wide awake.

Labor story --

I woke up just before 2 a.m. and had to go for my usual visit to the bathroom . . . one of several each night. I started feeling a dull cramping feeling in my lower abdomen. I thought maybe Seth was squashing some internal organ . . . he loves to do this . . . so I walked the length of the house twice and realized the pain was not stopping. I proceeded to wake up Jeremy and then called the Doctor. He said it is probably a false alarm, but given my past history of not really feeling contractions that I should go ahead and get checked at the hospital. We got to the hospital at 2:46 a.m. I told Jeremy that we could go to IHOP or Denny's after we get sent home. Well they did my assessment and said I was at 4 cm with contractions 3 to 5 minutes apart. I couldn't believe it! From there it was a fast and furious blur. We moved to a labor and delivery room, had to sign forms, IV was put in, stabbed four times to get blood sample, epidural administered, water manually broken, tiny dose of pitocin given, informed a bit after 10 a.m. that I was at 8 or 9 cm and would have a baby in 30 minutes . . . 10:35 a.m. he arrived! Whoa!

Last night was rough for me. Jeremy comes to me around midnight telling me that Seth is hungry. At this point I was blitzed. I had not slept in almost 24 hours. We would try to sleep, but there was always some interuption. Anyways my darling husband stood next to me while I nursed Seth as I was 95% asleep. After I nursed he had Seth taken to the nursery. I woke around 3 a.m. with my mind back together. I must say that my husband is so awesome. He has been so kind in caring for Seth and I. He is a hands on daddy. Seth will soon learn what a great daddy he has . . . his big sister Jasmine already knows.
