We are totally having a baby and I am very pleased! The Lord has done this for us and I give Him the credit and my thanks for granting us this request.
We are having a little girl. Most guys are like, "I bet you wish you were having a boy." Two words: "pee tent". Here are two more: "no thanks". I am happy to have a little girl, and down the road we may be blessed with a little boy. I will be happy then, but for now I am very glad to be having a girl, and I hope she looks like her mommy.
I like to talk and sing to my daughter in the womb. We have been playing her some Baroque and Classical music. It may be too soon for Romantic era music, and it is definitely too soon for 20th century (unless it is neo-classical).
So the question will remain unanswered for a while, but I wonder if she will have her daddy's musical talent. I hope that she has it, and then some. If not, then that is fine too, but she has to like Monty Python. If we can't share music then we must share my sense of humor. If not that, then she must like scifi...if not, then I will find something (I'm an optimist).
Now as a daddy to be I am experiencing the first pangs of thinking about that boy who is out there that can't keep his eyes off my daughter. That is a few years off, but I am feeling that protective instinct. As my grandpa always says, "Oh me!"
You guys are too funny! Looking forward to hearing all about your entrance into parenting!
