Where we have been

So I decided that I would start a blog . . . especially now that we are expecting our new arrival soon.

I thought I would start at the beginning and work my way to current day.
So after Jeremy graduated, we went on a celebratory trip to the Canadian Rockies in May 2005. Wow what a trip. It is the most beautiful place that I have ever been to. Never go to this place as your first big trip . . . it will ruin you for life. We decided to start trying to have a baby at this point. Time passed and boy did it pass slowly as each month I was disappointed with the reality that we were still not parents. Jeremy was always hopeful and reminded me that the Lord had a plan.

All this changed on May 1, 2007. I remember thinking that I might be feeling pregnant (like I really knew how that would feel like). I had taken several pregnancy tests in the past only, so taking another one would be no big deal . . . I mean one more negative result wouldn't be surprising. So Jeremy gets up really early and I decided to get up to take the test real quick. Jeremy is watching the clock as we are awaiting the test results and crazy enough it was positive. That just could not be right! Of all the months to get pregnant, this would not be the one I would have picked. I think that was what made this such an awe inspiring experience. It was God's perfect time for us to be pregnant. It was not because we counted days that month because we didn't. It is not because we took my temperature each morning because my thermometer battery went dead that month. It was all God!

Timeline
  • May 1st - Positive pregnancy test
  • May 2nd - Confirmed pregnancy via ultrasound
  • May 16th - Saw bagel's (our nickname for the baby) heartbeat
  • The hurling every morning before work started and ended at the beginning of the 2nd trimester
  • August 7th - She actually is a baguette and we decided her name would be Jasmine (a name we fell in love with years ago)
  • November 21st - Today I am 34 weeks and 4 days. I feel great other than the late night rolling out of bed to go pee. The nursery is coming along. I need to pack my hospital bag still . . . I am in denial . . . I like Jazzy in my belly for now.
  • December 30th - Estimated due date. It is any ones guess as to when she will pop out.

  4. Isn't God's timing perfect!! I was in total denial when we FINALLY got a positive pregnancy test too. I had to call my best friend so she could convince us that being able to see that faint second line had to mean something.

    Can't wait to meet Jazzy : )
