So Saturday morning after the breakfast club, we gathered our stuff and headed towards Tomball. My mom aka Amachi had no idea where we were going since it was a surprise for her birthday. We finally get to the destination and my mom sees the sign for fishing and was tickled silly. For those that don't know my mom likes to fish . . . at least the concept of fishing to catch the fish. She has been asking for someone to take her fishing, but she does not want to sit for hours in a boat and maybe catch one fish. She wants to put her pole in the water and have fish grab at the bait. She wants to catch twenty to one hundred fish per hour. So the best place we could find for her was the Ye Ole' Daynite Fishin' Hole at 24219 FM 2978 in Tomball, TX (713-557-4860). It is a stocked pond, so odds were definetly stacked in our favor. We were out there and caught six or seven catfish and one sunfish. My mom was pleased . . . well she would have been more pleased if we caught more or if she could have stayed there all day. :)
Here are the pictures!
Jeremy, Ann and Marti with their prized catch
This picture would make even Jeremy's grandpa proud -- yes he caught a stick!
Smiling faces after time at the fishing hole!
Looks like ya'll caught some nice fish...and....a...nice stick. I'm so glad you guys had some fun at the ol' fishin' hole. What a great birthday idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great surprise! It looks like you guys sure had a fun time. Now, who gets to clean the fish? You just need to let me know what night you're going to fry those babies up so I can come visit. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh man-I wanna go! You all look like you are having a blast. I am with Amachi-all that sitting around in a boat playing with worms is ridiculous. Go for the stocked pond all the way! Happy Birthday, Amachi!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny Marianne... the sign is so funny! It looks like your mom did catch a lot of fish... looks like a great fishing spot... just not for swimming though!
