The weekend was long and busy. It all started on Friday when my dad aka appachan came to visit. He came bearing gifts for Jasmine . . . chocolate cookies and a Dora trike. She was so happy to see him!
On Saturday, I got the bright idea of being out of the house all day since Jeremy had class. We went to a double birthday party and then our church's fall festival. I decided that I should try to put Jasmine's hair in pigtails for the day. How do you do this without pulling their hair? My daughter is a wiggle worm and her hair is so fine. Here are the results . . . a cute smile!
Here is one with a snouty face . . . makes sense since she has pigtails!
Sunday was declared Big Sister Day by us a month or so ago. We wanted to put a date on the calendar where we had a fun day doing things we thought Jasmine would like to do. First up we went to a local park in the beautiful weather. We then went to church and followed it up with her first trip to McDonalds. Now the McDonalds thing came up because she likes her McDonalds kitchen so much and we thought she would be tickled to go to McDonalds. Well the girl didn't want to eat a cheeseburger, but loved the apple slices. I had not really been to McDonalds to eat a meal in like years and years unless we were on a road trip or something. Everything is labed with the nutritional content and let me tell you I just felt dirty after leaving there. I am glad Jasmine doesn't really like the place after all.
We went home for naptime and then afterwards we headed to TGR Exoctics for their Pumpkin Patch. We paid $3 for Jasmine to get in and was greeted by two small horses . . . their were horses just walking around (unattended) that anyone could pet. How cool is that? Here is Jazzy petting the baby camel while Jeremy feeds it some hay.
Here is a kangaroo!
Here is a baby kangaroo named Bianca. I heard there was a baby kangaroo around, but never saw it. I finally asked someone and they pointed out a lady for me to go see. I looked at the lady, but did not see a kangaroo. I finally figured out it was in this purse/pouch looking thing she was holding. Here it is sucking its toes like a pacifier. How cute is that?
Bianca checks out Jeremy and Jasmine.
I asked Jasmine if she would give baby Seth her little pumpkin and she was eager to do it!
A shot of Jasmine and me. She isn't looking at the camera, but she is smiling!
Petting the little horse
At least Jeremy is smiling in this picture!
Daddy's girl
So the final stop was to get Jasmine a baby doll. I thought she would pick out one with tons of accessories, but she liked this one. She holds it and loves on it like a good mommy would.
This is a bonus shot! We went to Target today while my mom was at a Dr. appt. I thought we would burn some time while window shopping, but we ended up exploring the front seat of my car until I got fed up with waiting for the rain to die down. Jasmine loved mommy running in the rain with her.
I don't have a trick for not pulling hair putting the pigtails in. Just lots of discipline and explaining that if you sit still it won't hurt so much : P
ReplyDeleteBut, Kevin did figure out the best way to get the no-pull rubber bands out. You actually separate the hair at the scalp in opposite directions and let it gently push the rubber band off. It seems weird and counter-intuitive, but it's the least tangled way to do it.
I love the pigtails. So cute! What a fun weekend with many memories made. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLook at you so active in your last month before giving birth, good job! That is a neat idea to have a special day for Jasmine before Seth is born :). I will have to remember that when the time comes for us to have another child.
