Malayalee aka Indian Princess

On Friday we went to visit a retirement community with our MOPS group and I dressed Jasmine in this outfit that my mom brought from India in 2008.

Here she is prancing around the house beforehand

She did fairly well visiting with the sweet elderly folks.  She was shy at first and then quickly warmed up to saying hi once she realized candy was being handed out.  At some point she wanted to stop going around and focus on eating some of her loot.  Unfortunately candy does not make a good lunch, so I pulled the plug on that pretty quick.  We went afterwards to McDonalds with some other MOPS gals.  Jasmine had a lot of fun on the playground and I think now in her mind McDonalds is associated with a playground and food that requires dipping sauces like chicken nuggets, french fries, and apple slices . . . oh how she likes to dip!  :)

Here is a pretty pose I got of her.  She is just so beautiful.  I can't get enough of her!

Saturday night was Halloween and we didn't have any major plans other than passing out candy as usual on the driveway.  This year was oh so different.  Jasmine was jazzed to go trick or treating.  I have never seen her so bold and her feet move so fast from house to house.
Here she is practicing her trick or treating with Papaw.  Do you see that grin on her face?

For a while it was just Papaw, Amachi and me at the house with candy duty while Jeremy, Grandma and Jasmine went trolling for loot.  Later I ditched as well and joined the trick or treating caravan.

Papaw sizing up the kiddos costumes and hunger for candy as they come down the street

Trick or treating Jazzy style
1.  Look super cute
2. Have bag open and ready

3.  Knock on door
4.  Smile and say trick or treat
5.  Take candy
6.  Leave with a thank you and bye or see you later
*Do you see her dragging the bag on the floor?  She did that most of the night.*

7.  Never let daddy hold the candy bag . . . he cannot be trusted . . . neither can mom . . . have you seen her belly lately?  :)

8.  Proceed as quickly as possible to the next house!

I must say that we were all tickled with her excitement.  She was so cute and now Halloween will never be the same.  Gone are the days where we could sit, hand out candy and visit with neighbors.  I envision that next year we will need a wagon for Seth to keep up with his big sister!

  1. Jasmine is so precious! She was beautiful in her costume. I'm glad to see that we weren't the only ones who "practiced" trick-or-treating and took pictures of the event. Too funny.
