So this week I have been battling a cold. It really is not that bad of a cold during the day, but at night it has been sheer torture. I already am having sleep issues this late in my pregnancy, so I was really not sleeping with my nose so congested. The nurse at my doctor's office offered to give me a Z pack (sp?) antibiotic, but I was not really interested in taking medicine this late in the pregnancy and thought I would tough it out. I was telling my friend Marisa about the misery I was experiencing and she told me she would drop something off for me to try. Well I tried the NeilMed Sinus Rinse last night . . . I mean I wasn't really able to sleep, so how much worse could I be if I tried this weird thing . . . let me tell you it helped me breathe all night. I am forever changed by what I am going to do when I get a cold and can't breathe at night. They sell these kits at your local drugstore. Try it . . . you might like it.

I'm a big fan of my Netti pot nasal rinser. I try to use it every other day with Alkalol and water. Alkalol is a natural nasal rinse you can get at the pharmacy without a prescription (if they don't have it in stock they can order it for you) and it has spearmint, wintergreen, eucalyptus, and some other stuff. In the last year I had 6 sinus infections but since starting the netti pot probably 4 months ago I haven't had an infection yet. I'm a big believer. I'm so glad you found something to give you relief finally.
