Jasmine received the Chutes and Ladders game from her dear uncle Alex and aunt Olivia last year. She recently has wanted to get it out to "play". She really doesn't want to play the game, but she does like sliding the people down the chutes and up the ladders.
Did you see how the people are setup for this round?
Here is a closer look. Yes, she decided for this round that the folks needed to wear the blue things as hats instead of shoes. Too funny!
Potty training has been going well . . . in the daytime at least. We have tried to give Jasmine incentive to have a dry diaper at naptime and nighttime. I go in to get her after her nap and she would have peed in her diaper seconds ago. So we set up a line of things to bribe her with . . . Yes, Thomas the train stuff. We got it off craigslist for a great deal.
On August 12th, she had a dry diaper at naptime and got this Thomas the Train record player. She loves it! Today is August the 21st and no other Thomas the Train prize has been awarded. Let me know if you have any tips to sleep potty training.
I wouldn't stress too much about the sleep potty training. It all has to do with how heavy a sleeper your child is.
ReplyDeleteMy one recommendation for nighttime though, is to wake her up and take her to the bathroom right before you turn in for the night.
Caroline would sit there on the potty about 85% asleep and pee for us. It was quite a silly sight to behold.
Maybe you could also limit fluid intake for the hour before bedtime too.
We took Emma in for her three year check up last week, and I asked the doctor about nighttime potty training. She said as long as they're staying clean and dry during the day, the nighttime training should happen on its own. I'm still going to try the nighttime potty visits (like Margaret mentioned above), but I'm not going to stress over a wet PullUp in the morning. It sounds like Jasmine is doing great and that she'll have all her Thomas the Train goodies in no time at all. :)
